A family friend from Manila came to Cebu for vacation. Having them so dearly to us and having missed them a lot, we went on a day tour with them to four of the top tourist spots here in the Queen City of the South –Cebu, Philippines. Since we went to four destinations and I’ve taken a lot of photos per location, I’ll be sharing first our experience at the Temple of Leah.
The Temple of Leah is located in Barangay Busay, Cebu City, with a width of 5,000 square meters. The said mansion is a seven-story building with twenty rooms and sixty columns. It is not just a residential or tourist attraction but also a work of art built as a symbol of a man’s undying love to his wife.
TEODORICO AND LEAH LOVE STORY
Teodorico Adarna, the owner of Temple of Leah and grandfather of Filipino actress Ellen Adarna, made this huge palace of Greek Architecture design as his own way of showing how strong his love and his ceaseless devotion to his wife, Leah Villa Albino. According to my research, Teodorico and Leah met while they were studying. Leah was so beautiful – a head turner girl or crush ng bayan – on that time and a lot of men likes her. Though she has a lot of suitors back then, Teodorico was the only one who caught her heart. When they graduated and finished their school, they tied the knot immediately and had children.
Leah dreamt of having a rest house in Cebu but unfortunately she didn’t get that chance to see and have that rest house because she was diagnosed with Cancer and died last 2010 at the age of 69 years old. Teodorico was in deep agony when she died, and so, He and his children decided to build a Greek mythology inspired mansion where Leah’s favorite things will be in stored and so that her memories will remain alive.

The statue of Leah has ten feet high made of bronze. She’s holding a flower and wears a crown and it was all made in China.
Such an amazing place and an incredible love story behind that beautiful temple!
