When We Don’t Understand
I depend on technology every day to get my job done, but I don’t understand much about how it works. I turn my computer desktop on, bring up a Word document, and get to work on my writing. Yet my inability to comprehend how microchips, hard drives, Wi-Fi connections, and full-color displays actually function doesn’t get in the way of my benefiting from technology. Do you have these thoughts same with mine?
And in a sense, I find that it mirrors our relationship with God.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV
Isaiah 55 reminds us that God is far beyond us. His thoughts are beyond our comprehension – no one could ever fathom his understanding. Even though we don’t understand everything about God, that doesn’t prevent us from trusting Him. All we really have to do is to FULLY SURRENDER TO HIS PERFECT WILL. TRUST. HAVE FAITH.
Why trust God wholeheartedly? Apostle Paul wrote,
“God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
CHRIST DIED FOR US. He offered His own life to give us life. And He did that all because of love, for you and for me. He died even we made mistakes in life, even we have sinned against Him, even when we don’t know Him yet – He already loved us from the very start. Do we need to have a second thought? On trusting His love? On trusting His plan for us? Even when life doesn’t make sense at all, we can walk with God confidently because we trust His perfect love and will for us.
We all know that life won’t be easy for us. There are lots of testing and trials on our way. But even when life doesn’t make sense at all, we can walk with God confidently because we trust His perfect love and will for us. Our God moves in His own mysterious ways. And He wouldn’t give us just the good but the BEST. So hang in there, my dear friend, and trust our big God even when we don’t understand.

This reminds me of what we’ve been talking about in our small group lately. About being fully dependent on God about everything. 🙂
